Help an indecisive ferret!
The next post will be real, I promise. In this one, I'm asking for advice. See, I've got this guitar. It came with a very damaged case, so I need to get it a real case. I've worked out that chipboard (cardboard) cases are expensive enough that I might as well spring for a gooood case. I'll only need to buy one in my lifetime. I've got two comparably priced local choices ($80-$90).
1) Standard molded plastic flight case. Lined in black plush, nice black plush compartment, fairly heavy. It looks like "hi, I'm a guitar case."
2) Space age grey foam case. The stuff looks like styrofoam, but is obviously much tougher, and is advertised as snag proof. No lining (the foam is its own cushion), larger compartment than the first case. Insanely light. Fastens with velcro. The salesman demonstration to vendors involves putting a guitar in it and flinging it across the room. It looks like a large mysterious blob of grey styrofoam with velcro straps.
3) Mom suggests I wait a year in case they come out with a space age normal looking guitar case. So...
