Does anyone know how to get smoke out of leather? My boots REEK.

So do my corset and cloak, for that matter, so suggestions for dealing with smoke in not-so-washable fabric would also be welcome.

For the record, this does not mean I've had time to read LJ lately, so if there's something I should know about, call or e-mail. Yeesh, glancing at the last couple months of entries, I wouldn't bother reading me. So it goes.

I've read a pile of books that I want to recommend, I have a 12-week temp job to babble about, my social life is blissfully busy and my apartment is presentable for guests. You're all welcome to call my cel (see number in previous friend-locked post) or e-mail me (the lj address works) or comment if you want to get in touch.

I'm even hosting the Sunday evening Compline dinner tonight in plantae's absence, so if you want to come by, just give a call in advance. (This also applies if you need directions to la Casa del Biomass.)

Febreeze? Baking soda? The blood of the innocents?

I've one of those kits(home dry-cleaning in the dryer things) which I've used to freshen-up sports-coats, etc. Gement is welcome to borrow it and try it--buing the setup is a little pricey.

I've not tried it on serious smoke problems. Generally, I try to hang and air-out that kind of stuff as a first step (back porch, in bathroom with fan/window open, etc.)

Definitely Febreeze

Get some febreeze.
Spray your boots inside and out. Perhaps set them outside overnight for a nice airing out (but only if you don't think it will rain, otherwise let them dry indoors).
Febreeze gets smoke smell out of everything.

If you were closer, I'd loan you my febreeze gun. :)

The above comments are all good ones. I just wanted to note that this is why I've all but stopped going to the Merc. I really, really don't understand why such a ridiculous percentage of the goth scene is that addicted to smoking. bah.

(And why I was so fond of Rebecca's smoke-free goth club plans. I still hope they come to fruition...)

too bad I didn't make it to Compline that night, although I guess RSVPing with Sarah would have done me little good!

off to the UK, have friended you blah blah blah *smile*

PS I think my boyfriend nearly fell over when I told him I was planning on watching Dr. Who :)
