Party tonight and tomorrow, and a mystery postcard.

Tonight. Tomorrow. Mathoms. My house. Be there or don't get rid of your unwanted treasures.

(I have also given permission to [livejournal.com profile] plantae to bring her homemade jam and homegrown honey for sale on the side. It's really good stuff.)

I got a postcard today with no identifying information and no Postcrossing code.

Dag Hammarskjöld, UN Secretary General 1953-1961, seated at a desk in front of a world map. You have been drafted into the Dag Hammarskjöld fan club! UN stamp and postmark.

I have apparently been drafted into the Dag Hammarskjöld fan club by someone with access to the UN post office in New York. This is on par with getting mail from Serenity Valley. If it was one of you, fess up! (Edit: [livejournal.com profile] gfish and [livejournal.com profile] adularia were the culprits. Thanks!)

Ditto. Which should make it easy to guess! :)

Damn it! I've only been skimming lately, and I don't know who other than Ari was in NY on February 1st.

Someone from here went out to visit her and see the city. And the UN, of course.

[livejournal.com profile] dymaxion has also been upgraded to a holder of a UN postmark.

What, I didn't tell you I was calling from the UN bookshop?

Um, no. You seem to have neglected that detail. :) So it was you, then? Now I'm confused. Oh! You asked for my address!

I'm an idiot.

I do not wish you to think yourself an idiot! But boy, did I enjoy the subterfuge. :D

(Fish sent you the postcard. He put me up to calling you.)

Okay, I have now determined by looking at the relevant LJ posts, that Fish was in NY on Feb 1. Which I knew, as far as I know things about people's travel plans...

One of the things about not having the travel bug is that other people's travel adventures don't tend to stick, even when they talk about really interesting landmarks. I read all about him going to the Guggenheim, but it got filed under "Guggenheim," not under "Fish is in NYC right now."

I can definitely testify to the awesomeness of [livejournal.com profile] plantae's honey. Nom.

I brought some mathoms to work today. So I can't attend your party, but I'm there in spirit. My mathoms, however, have mostly found new homes. Yaay!

[identity profile] gfish.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, it arrived! Now we're even for Doctor Mew. :)

[identity profile] gement.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I must send you MORE. Mwahahahaah.

Addendum: If you happen to be near wacky and specific postcards (airplanes, history of tech, Secretary Generals of the UN), they make great presents for me. :) If you're into buying me presents of course, which I'm not presuming, but just in case. Because this postcard? SO AWESOME.
