How do they rise up, rise up

This week's been pretty hard. This month's been pretty mixed. I learned the ways of Tumblr and I'm not sure they're good for me, and I sampled the ways of a fan-run IRC client, and I'm absolutely certain that was bad for me, and my brain chemistry is only thinking in run-on sentences right now.

But last week I went to the Cuff for the first time and everything was nice and mundane and not at all like Tom of Finland and I didn't die. And today is Lilac Day and Towel Day and it's the first time in a decade that I've noticed in time to observe it. My emotions are very close to the surface right now, so I'm crying over this stupid vase of flowers I cut in the alley.

So, while I'd like to be making more regular and substantive updates, this is probably the important one for the month. The lilacs are well past blooming, but I have whatever was growing in the alley today, which was the entire point of lilacs in the first place, and I have Vimes looking over my shoulder with the Look that says I'd better get off my ass and do what needs doing, because he can remind me how not to compromise.

I'd say you're well looked after, with Sam looking over your shoulder.

I don't know what lilac day is... but I suppose the internet has plenty of info.
It's not a run-on sentence unless it has multiple independent clauses, in my opinion.
