World turns
I'm off work for a week for my wrists, which is the closest medical excuse to playing hookey I can think of, in that it really is valid, and I really do hurt if I work in this condition... But if I don't work, I don't hurt, and the only crimp in my day is wearing wrist braces and icing occasionally.
(Do not get the icing on the wrist braces; they take forever to dry after you wash them.)
I was briefly disgruntled about burning most of my leave time. Then I thought about it a little longer. This is the week before a three-day weekend. I am in fine health, other than my arms. I am in a new romance. If we lived in a society where we could just walk away from day jobs when we needed a little time for ourselves, this would be the perfect week for it.
So you can call if you want to socialize, and I may or may not scrape myself out of my room.
"If you missed anything, you can give us a ring, but we don't always answer the phone..."
