Make my day

I brought my big blue sitting ball (Rover) to work, so I can bounce and work and sway and work and generally not fossilize in one position, which should be good for my arms. It's drawing some comments, but I'm not the first person in this office to have tried one, so it's mostly "how is that working for you?"

One nurse coming through, who we see about every two weeks, asked me about it, and I explained, which made me wiggle because I was thinking about it.

She said, "And you're a dancer, too."

I started to regretfully correct her. Then I realized she knows I tango. I dance. I've been dancing for eight months. One of my labels in this person's head is Dancer.

[livejournal.com profile] lunar__angel, among other people, will understand how much this means to me.

Incidentally, how *is* that working for you? I'm curious. I have bad posture issues and I wondered if it would help...

Well, I'm enjoying the hell out of it, and there are a lot fewer ways you can slouch while sitting on a chair with neither a back nor a fixed center of gravity. My posture is much much better.

The only drawback (given how often I run to the fax machine) is that I have to sit down and stand up rather more consciously, rather like getting on and off of a horse rather than flopping into a chair.

Yay for bouncyball! Good for balance, too.

I should really learn how to dance more than I can right now. I've always thought of you as a Dancer, anyhow.

2 things:

First, how much do these balls cost? I had one recommended to me to end my recent blinding headaches which are likely, according to a masseuse friend, caused by my shitty posture.

Second, do you want to get lunch or/and dinner with me in the near future? Possibly Friday? Drop me a line if you're interested, we'll discuss in real time.

They're pretty cheap, relatively speaking — I got a big one and I think it was maybe $35.  So, not free, but it beats $650 for an Aeron.

Mine was around twenty bucks. I suspect that most people, barring unusual physiologies, would benefit from trying one. My arms feel great, and the only body parts grumbling are the bits of my back that aren't used to pulling their weight.

This week is insanely booked, but next could be better...

Yay, I'm glad that's working out for you.  One of the best things I've found about them is that they're also wonderful for back stretches.

YAAAY!! Repeat after me, early and often: "I am a dancer. I dance. I dance every week. I AM A DANCER."

Because, ya know, you are a dancer.

Yay dancer ferret!

Bosswyvern has one of those sitting balls. I can always tell when he's getting bored of our meeting, because he starts bouncing.
