I'm alive!

Hi! Um.

I had a short contract at Amazon. I have another contract at Amazon starting Monday. They want to find me a full-time slot and that's my short-term career goal, so that's basically fantastic.

I've been playing a lot of Doodle or Die (account 1, account 2). I ended up group modding there, which has been eating some of the energy that I would otherwise have used for updating here anytime since, um, last July. If you feel like crooning over how much I've taught myself to draw in the last six months, it makes my heart warm and fuzzy and I will not play at false modesty. Put in 1500 hours of practice at something and it's amazing how much better you get!

I've stuck to my resolve not to be completist about Tumblr, but I skim it a bit. I skim here too. I've had trouble engaging anywhere in the last months, though, since LJ has less content on it (I'm not helping) and none of the other places have interfaces that sit right with me.

I don't know if it's living with a recluse that's driving my reclusion, or if I'm better acknowledging my needs, or if I've been letting my anxiety get worse by humoring it, or if I've just changed with time, which is a thing that happens.

I miss you lot. I can start skimming people I actually know on Tumblr, I suppose. If you have one, friend gement with it, I suppose? I've been skimming with a different homestuck focused account, which is a large part of the disconnection. I need to get back to following the people I feel like I know. Even if you're imaginary internet friends, you're my real imaginary internet friends, as opposed to random fanart blogs.

I've been thinking of making a list of people that I try to hang out with at least every three months. Not like a requirement, just like... my schedule is so strictly routine at this point that I see the same six people over and over, and any break in the routine is anxiety-laden. I think my brain needs remedial practice at the idea that something *different* might happen today.

So, um, if you're still reading LJ, I'd love to see comments from you, and if you're mostly over to Tumblr and know others who are, please point them at me there so I can stay in the web? Thanks.

Let's put it this way, I'm reading enough to have opened this in a tab to comment, but posting rarely enough that actually *posting* the comment took me a month.

I post little things on facebook, but not much. I read facebook and LJ. Becoming deeply skeptical of google as a "not evil" company and not really reading g+. Open to a new digital home but not sure where that would be and I'd have time for it.

Yay! Mostly I only do FB these days (and I feel vaguely dirty for it ;) ) because I've largely moved away from the social circle with whom I interacted on LJ, and have been so busy with life that I never write anymore. I have vague aspirations of getting on Diaspora or something like it in the nearish future, but we'll see whether that ever actually ends up happening :-/

In the meantime, was good to chat with you the other night and is nifty to see updates of how other things are going for you. Good luck with the Amazon thing! ^_^ (I'll try to check out your doodling later ^_^)
