There are a lot of very confused little flowers all over campus. They came out on or around the first of March, as designated in the Great Scheme of Things, and then it snowed all over them. Little purple and blue flowers struggling through snow is a very odd sight.

When the snow first falls, by the way, try something (this requires the nice new fluffy powdery snow): Pick some snow up gently. Take a small mouthful of snow, about a tablespoon, not crushing it. Start gently patting it into a loose-pack snowball with your tongue and the roof of your mouth, turning it around as necessary. It will start compressing and making squeaky sounds. Keep turning it in your mouth a bit longer (you're letting it warm up), then compact it suddenly between your tongue and the roof of your mouth.

If I've given the directions clearly enough and your taste buds are wired like mine, then you will get a momentary taste of the most wonderful clear cold water ever. It's the taste that Arrowhead and its ilk keep unsuccessfully trying to bottle. Try it at home, kids. Take home a mouthful of wonder today.
