[A bit of context: I was kept on as a "temporary" for nine months before I was considered a real employee at my company. I was officially hired in March.]

This time last year, when Mr. 401K came to tell the company about our wonderful matching benefits, it caused me stress to the point of stomach upset and sobbing my eyes out, as the girl brought on three weeks after me had been permanently hired and I hadn't. I felt completely shut out.
