Random Whovian tangent
Jan. 21st, 2009 01:57 pmEdit: Hold the phone, this conflicts with a class that it took me forever to authorize through work. Argh. I will report back.
Edit again: At this point the cost-benefit analysis just keeps sinking. See next post. Sigh.
So despite not having updated since Thanksgiving (and I did have a lovely December and enjoyed Snowpocalypse immensely, thanks), I am now posting about the future instead.
I'm seriously considering going to Gallifrey One, the big ol' Doctor Who convention. It's in LA, Feb 13-15. I was actually planning on getting all this booked months ago, but having a look, I'm not actually too late yet. Costs look like:
3 days off work (Thursday through Monday)
Con registration: $65 per person
Plane fare from SEA: $192 per person
Hotel (2 nights): $200 to $280, split up to four ways.
(I'm currently proposing that two of my darlings join me in this madness. We'll see if they do.)
So, the chances I could split a hotel room with you if you wanted to go are slim, but existent, and you might want to go anyway, especially if you already knew your good friend Gement was going to be there. I am just bringing this to your attention before it is too late.
They got Ianto, and Colin Baker, and my favorite Dr. Who writer in the Universe, Paul Cornell. Also, the awesome
rm who I know rather more about than those other people, and would really like to meet. (Yes, RM, it's your fault I'm seriously considering attending.) The panels and activities look fun.
Drop a line. Tell me if I might see you there.
