Sorry for the lack of personal or even informative posts, lately, by the way.

I went to Seattle. It was wonderful. Jason died again. He'll be back in the spring; he almost promised this time. I saw [livejournal.com profile] mortalcity, and we had an incredibly wonderful time together. I enjoyed [livejournal.com profile] cow's gracious hospitality and saw too many people to list (though [livejournal.com profile] spaced's skills as a gourmet cook must be given a very honorable mention). I came back. I continue to work. I am now training my replacement. The excitement comes in waves, as the old waterpark slogan goes.

I have been too busy, stressed, and avoiding to work on job search since Oct 10, at which time there were valid health reasons. Now there are not. Now I'm just being avoidy.

I now own first season FK (see previous post), The Wolves In The Walls (an excellent Neil Gaiman read-aloud book with drawings of wolves that would have given child-me nightmares), and Apples to Apples, but only the original set, which a devoted gang can play through in a single evening, so if anyone wants to buy me expansions, they make great gifts, hint hint.

The local college theater (including several of my friends) is putting on Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and the leads can enunciate well enough for an audience that hasn't read the script to follow along! Also, Rosencrantz tipped me off to the existence of $80 (+ ship&tax = $100) PIRATE BOOOOOOOOOOTS! Which I will possess on Monday, FedEx willing.

SCAboots.com, your one stop shop for good looking cheap leather pirate boots with good modern rubber soles and almost no heel! I recommend them highly.

For reference, the "excitement in waves" is the Northwest Voyageurs slogan.

So which in R & G is which? Was the tip-off from Glenn or Matt? Wish I could see the show. Whee, I got to talk to both Morgans and Dale last night when I called Ryan (they were at Shari's).

Yay for FK! Will you be done with it by the time I come home next week, or will I have to wait until Christmas break?

Oh. Right. I should have remembered why that slogan seemed so familiar. Huh.

The tip was from Matt. He's playing the dense but intuitive one. Glenn is the analytical but hopelessly stressed one.

Tell you what. I'm trying to work through this volume slowwwwwwly since there are still a lot of episodes I haven't seen. To support this, I can loan it to you at Thanksgiving and you can give it back to me at Christmas.

You could even wrap it. There aren't going to be a whole bunch of presents this year, so that would be fun.

It was so much fun watching it during the right time slot, all alone in the toasty studio, yelling at the screen...

Example:
[Nick says something about getting home before sunrise.]
Me: WHY DON'T YOU WEAR A SIGN?!?

[Nick says something about getting something he can sink his teeth into.]
Me: WHY DON'T YOU WEAR A SIGN?!?

[Nick dives for his refrigerator.]
Me: SPIT THE CORK! SPIT THE CORK! AWWW, C'MON.

ROFLOL!!!!!!
I LOVE doing that in the studio, just being alone and yelling at the TV! I can't really do that here without feeling stupid (although I sometimes do anyway). I'll decide when I'm home whether I should actually bring the DVDs here, or resist the urge.
Random fun fact: Last week I was doing a costuming workshop, and cutting up magazines to collage a costume idea. In an ancient McCall's, I found an ad for FK!!! All in sickly green/blue, with lightning. I tore it out for you.

"Meet Detective Nick Knight. When the sun goes down, so does the crime rate. Geraint Wyn Davies in Forever Knight: 13th Century Vampire. 20th Century Cop. New episodes! Mondays at 10PM on USA."

Ye gods, he once had a good time-slot?

Wish I could see the play, bleah on all of you who can. :P
