A guitar! I am impressed and mildly envious and happy for you. :) Feel free to babble at me about it, I would like to know how it goes. Also if you have any Sekrit Guitar Care Hints. My brother gave me the guitar he took to college with him (all those many years ago), at the end of August, which was very cool of him.
Also, woo camera. Sounds better than my spotful focus-free one. (ahaha, focus-free, yeah, I thought of that one myself.) I got a little NiMH (I'm not sure which metal the M is, I guess they just sort of wave their hands and expect you to nod and smile, or maybe it says somewhere in the fine print) recharger & 4 AAs in a little pack, and so far -- although it hasn't been long -- they seem great. They supposedly contain 2100 mAh at full charge, although the voltage is only 1.2V per battery, cameras don't really need voltage too badly. The worst thing for energy use the flash, but that uses a capacitor so you just have to wait a tiny fraction longer for it to charge up, and flashes suck anyway. I try to remember to keep the LCD screen off as much as I can. The 110 pictures I took yesterday didn't seem to dent the batteries ... it still says 'green' on display, although I don't know if that means >50% or just 'not red'.
That was kind of a long battery rant. I'm much happier with them than the camera. :D Your other things sound good (and occasionally goofy), too, although I'll save you more ranting. Merry Christmas!
