Edible book photos are up!
Apr. 14th, 2006 08:07 amThe Dewey Decimeal is immortalized in pixels at http://www.frybooks.com! I recommend surfing the entire selection of comestible codices, but if you're just looking for the highlights, these are my picks...
Best "book arts": A Book in the Mouth Is a Pain in the Butt
Worst pun: The Ryes Were Noshing Gouda (there is a six-way tie for runner-up on this one.)
Tastiest: Heart of Darkness (chocolate mousse covered with raspberry sauce)
Simplest: Dune
Most political: Pie and Prejudice
Most surreal: The All-American Girl-on-Girl Jell-o Wrestling Almanac (yes, those are real dolls in there)
Shiniest: Cookie Codex (I want to know where you get iridescent purple shimmer for cookies!)
Smallest: My Year of Meats
Largest and Most overwhelming: Little House on the Prairie (you could smell the butter in the vast frosting prairie, and even the little vegetables were detailed.)
Absolute favorite: The Unbearable Lightness of Bean (second worst pun and second best book art - the pages are phillo dough and curled in an utterly convincing fashion.)
