Awesome song realization, and I'm feeling good.

I haven't read in days, haven't posted in longer, but things have been moving in my life. Cleaning and reorganizing, thinking about relationships, swooped in and saved the day doing some house-sitting for my mom, and I've even been making some progress at work.

But that's not why I'm posting. I'm posting to say, if you know and like the Decemberists song, The Bagman's Gambit (they'll never catch me now! lyrics audio)... Ever notice that it's not gendered?

I've always pictured the spy as Natasha, deceptively sweet with hard eyes, waving gracefully from an open-top car, bare shoulders and a chunky bracelet.

I listened to it today and can find nothing in the lyrics to rule out the spy being James Bond, or Jack Harkness, or Frank Abagnale (Catch Me If You Can). Trading sex for papers in a bathroom off the National Mall would be well and truly in character for any of them, if the occasion demanded...

I was just delighted, and thought you might be too.

Nor had I, and I love that song!!!! I love that whole CD in fact, and haven't listened to it in AGES!!! It is apparently not here at work with me any longer. Must locate it when I get home!
