Creativity is awesome.
Jan. 25th, 2010 08:56 amI said I was going to start sketching and it has now been a couple weeks that I have consistently forgotten to grab one of my many blank sketchbooks from my bookshelf.
beaq nudged me today, so screw the sketchbook. I did this on a piece of 8.5x11 scrap paper with a world map printed on the back. Prompt: "Wrathful doctor floating around a zoo."

There we go. I'll just keep drawing on scrap until I remember a book. Oh, media: fountain pen loaded with Noodler's Heart of Darkness, blue highlighter.
In other news, I got to see Firesign Theater last night. So awesome. They are clearly having so much fun. The audience was packed with, as they said, ancient hippies. I could tell the new material from the old by the low mutter of people quoting along with every line. They started playing with it, pausing to let people do the singalong thing. It was hysterical.
Work is good, postcards are good, the mathom party will probably be Saturday the 6th, with a pre-party Friday night for people who can't make Saturday but want to participate. Official announcement coming soon.

That is so awesome. Our hearts broke a little with the recent passing of Peter Bergman. But there will always be Bozos on this Bus and Giant Rats in Sumatra. :)
Did you know several Firesigns worked on the Animated Tick? :D
Also, on the live action Tick, Peter Bergman played Metcalf, the guy who needed a machine to poop. :D
Also, you are the same person who made the supernatual bingo-- did it get any better as you went on? (I think it does!)

Date: 2012-04-19 06:13 pm (UTC)Supernatural turned into a different show with the addition of the Angel writer you mentioned. My jaw about hit the floor. J's watching all of it and cherry-picking episodes for me to watch, such as the Groundhog's Day episode.
When we went to watch whatever was next it turned out to be the Back to the Future episode. I'm sitting there shouting at the screen, "She's your *mom,* dude, you know she's your mom. Pull up! Pull up! Do not engage!"

Date: 2012-04-19 09:41 pm (UTC)IT IS ALL BEN EDLUND.
Ben Edlund is the creator of the Tick, and he is the guy who worked with Joss on Angel and Firefly, and he is the writer who came to Supernatural for s2. :D
"Mystery Spot" is a huge favorite of the fandom.
Also don't miss "Nightshifter" which is nigh unto perfect.
Man Eating Cow, in my icon, is a Ben Edlund Tick spinoff. :D

Date: 2012-04-19 10:14 pm (UTC)I know who Ben Edlund is. If you used his name before, I didn't catch it due to lack of context.
This. Explains. Everything.
(I have watched all of the animated Tick. All of it. J owns a number of the comic books.)
The idea that I can also blame Ben Edlund for a lot of Angel also makes me happy.
