Messages from the great beyond...
Feb. 2nd, 2010 09:30 amFirst a message TO the everyone reading this: The Mathom party is still on, my house, Friday evening 6pm-9pm preparty or Saturday 3pm-9 or later main event. I have an impressive stack of boxes in my living room waiting to be rummaged. I have heard a report that an excellent baker is bringing cookies. If I have you friended, here are my contact info and directions. If I don't, holler.
This week I got postcards from Poland, Korea, Canada, Arizona*, and... Serenity Valley. Thank you, my dorky, dorky friends and loved ones. My cube is starting to look spectacularly interesting.
My mother also mailed me the twin of her phone, so I can call her without racking up her minutes while she's on her Arizona adventure. There was a moment of Matrix geekery when I ripped open a padded envelope knowing it contained a charged cell phone. The only way to make it more awesome would be for Mom to have presciently called it just as I powered it up, but sometimes life is imperfect.
I also got the now-familiar monthly text transmission from 456, telling me that T-Mobile is charging my credit card. They only started sending these a few months ago. Two days after I watched Children of Earth, actually. I am not making this up.
It was particularly memorable, because I was in a tent at Paradise and had to delete some texts to make room for an incoming delivery. "New message from 456." I just about screamed.
arjache can attest. 4-5-bloody-6. (If you don't watch Torchwood, this won't scan. Don't worry about it. Really.)
* Two from Arizona, actually, and both from immediate family! Thanks, family!
Then my body sent me a memo last night, which was that migraines SUCK and I had one. I did not quite throw up, but I wished I could quite sincerely. I'm all wobbly today. Bleh. But feeling very well-connected to my loved ones!
