State of the ferret
Oct. 14th, 2010 12:51 pmHi! Uh, I still have my job. My current talk-doc has me working on doing as many scary things as I can stand to get used to the fact that being uncomfortable is not the end of the world. It is both difficult and very effective. I'm giving up security blankets like being on the phone constantly. I went on an unusual bus route by myself the other night, bought salad fixings, came home, and made salad, all without calling a bunch of people. This is a larger triumph than many people may understand. The next day I felt incredibly powerful. So that's going well.
My sister moved in and she is utterly awesome. I got bra-fitted at Nordstroms for the first time ever, and can highly recommend the experience. Including the fact that I outed myself as genderqueer to my fitter: she not only knew what I was talking about but immediately recommended binding products from the mens' department.
Oh, and as always, National Coming Out Day is my anniversary with
arjache, so I went to dinner with my girlfriend dressed to the nines instead of posting. :P
I keep seeing cool stuff and wanting to post, and instead it's been three months. C'est la vie. (La vie!) More brain lint later, perhaps. Ooh, I remembered one: "Dear tv news anchor: An art installation is not literally tearing a community apart unless it is a working scale replica of Galactus. In which case I definitely want to see your footage."
I had what I hope was a cool idea, so that'll be another post. If you want to know what's been going on with me in any particular ways, ask! I'm much better at answering questions than of remembering what people might want to hear.

Date: 2010-10-15 04:27 pm (UTC)Oh, I need to ask you what you would do for tools if you had a basic woodworking project. Do you have a reasonable setup at your place, and if so would the Agora like to see more of me? I have a very modest seekrit project I need to knock out.

Date: 2010-10-15 04:25 pm (UTC)No makeup, Doc Martens with mismatched laces, but no one was looking that far in either direction what with the new bra. (I'm now a 36D, apparently, and the current bras come with a surprising layer of padding, ostensibly to keep you from nipping out but really they add a full visual cup size.)
