gement | Previously, on Madison the Vampire Slayer

[x-posted to BuffyRPers] For those of you following along at home (yes, I know, that's mostly the people playing) I wanted to post a little something about where we stand before we dive into tonight's game. Anyone who really likes looking over people's shoulders at game plotlines, feel free.

--The Place--

Whistler's Point, Washington, a moderately active Hellmouth across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Heavy woods encourage enough werewolves to keep the vampire numbers low.

--The Cast--

Madison: the Slayer since November, Mayor's daughter, "good girl." Beheaded a human a month into the job and still gets nightmares about it. Currently dating Pan... cautiously. Loves her father, hates her mother. Calls Phoenix "little brother."

Colin Bey: Watcher, fighting for respect with the Council and the gang. Spent over a month in thrall to the Djinn in exchange for knowledge. (Oops.) Has a daughter nearby but does NOT bring her within miles of the Hellmouth.

Rob: Teenagoid Android, once got his head pulled off by the Terminator, has been a little odd since they taught him to meditate and he got hit by a dose of Bey's book-o'-knowledge. Spits occasional prophecy and picks up the FM dial. Loyal to Madison and to his builder.

Calypso: Natural witch, currently recovering from a long and severe ordeal with her split personality. (Fight Club, anyone?) She should get out of the hospital soon. Her bad-ass side is sweet on Phoenix.

Hazel: Girlgeek hacker, almost recruited by feminist biker vampires once. Recently ended up in the hospital with broken bones for carrying a valuable artifact in public. Has shown extra loyalty to Bey (even when Madison doubts him).

Phoenix: Mr. Billowy Coat King of Pain himself, the reincarnation of a Slayer's twin brother. Vengeance-driven demon hunter, he's taken "never forget" a little far. Goes ballistic if anything really threatens Madison.

Pan: Balance Demon and quiet troublemaker. He's saved the party at least twice, but has also caused them trouble, and killed Phoenix once upon a time. He refuses to pick a side, but he's picking up on the Slayer.

The Djinn: Big Bad, set half-free in the first episode by a stupid coven led by Branwyn. Can only exercise power in contractual wishes, feeds on chaos. The gang is still trying to figure out how to drain off enough of his power to be able to destroy him. If he gets all the way loose, everyone's buggered.

Branwyn: Local witch who seems to start every conversation with "I didn't do it." Seems sincerely scared of the Djinn, which makes sense -- half of her coven is dead or insane due to raising him. Bey recently bluffed her into promising good behavior.

They've survived a vampire gang war, giant spiders, werewolves, a riot-torn alternate universe, a Slayer-killer attack, gargoyles, the monster under the bed, a split personality psycho witch, assassins, and a junkie who the Djinn made a superhero.

Most recently, they had the Djinn bottled in a watch, but hadn't decided the best way to destroy it yet. While they were still thinking about it, vampires came after the watch and the Djinn got loose again (that's when Hazel got stomped). Madison was on her first date with Pan at the time. Trust issues much?

And, as of last Saturday, Madison's parents learned what a Slayer is when assassins attacked her in a Seattle boutique. Her father wants her training 8 hours a day. Her mother wants her to try wearing dresses more often and seeing if she grows out of it, like a phase or homosexuality.

Bey has called in a Council lawyer to help clear the assault charges Madison got slapped with. Phoenix tried to eliminate the assassins, but didn't manage it.

And they haven't heard from the Djinn since the watch broke. Not even random deaths.

The Hellmouth holds its breath...
