I mentioned the other day that random thoughts had been accumulating. All work-safe. Here they are.

Fashion

I'm finally springing for some of that 2-part bulletproof lipstick... Can regular wearers of this strange stuff please tell me what removes it, since the colors I want really don't match my work demeanor? (ahem)

I wore a dress to work two days in a row, and even more people commented the second day than the first. It was very weird. I'm not sure if it made me want to wear dresses more often or less.

Buffy Gaming

Gamed last Wednesday. It went tolerably, but nothing to crow about. We're gearing up for the season finale, so a lot of things have to happen that don't necessarily all come together in an obvious whole... and a lot of little things didn't quite go off right, so it'll take longer than I thought to crack my Slayer.

I seem to dream more when I don't spend every waking moment trying to scheme for game, so I deliberately took a break, but now it's the day before game and I still don't have the episode scripted... as usual. Sigh. It'll all come out in the wash.

That's just wrong

I love office supplies. I love them too much. I'm not supposed to feel tingly toes and a surge of glee at the prospect of my very own magnetic paperclip receptacle.

But everyone in the department knows where to turn if they need scissors...

By the way, did you know you can buy SPF 30 sunblock by the GALLON? It has cartoons of construction workers on it. Industrial supply catalogs can be both entertaining and informative.

Metropolis
(The remake, that is.)

I had not forgotten how bizarre this movie is, but I had forgotten how good the soundtrack was. Wonderful wonderful 30s stuff. And the climax... more movies should have stuff blowing up to music like that.

Coming soon, if I get around to it, a little rant about people who don't seem to get the principle behind having a standardized form to fill out.

Almost the first thing I did when I got home from seeing Metropolis was to put the soundtrack on my wishlist. :)

I saw it at Kinokuniya. Almost bought it for you. I think that was one of my poor days, though.

More accurately, it wasn't one of my non-poor days.

Lipstick

This is like, Lipfinity or Outlast? Comes off with Vaseline. Or biting your lips.

I usually use cold cream - Ponds has a lemon one that doesn't smell too revolting.

I used to use Lipfinity. It came off by itself after about 6 hours or so. It might have lasted longer if I'd used the lip balm more often (or at all).

I'd recommend it, but I haven't bought any more of it since I found the color "oodles" by Prescriptives.
