Fannish thoughts and a scavenger hunt

Also, I'm looking for Tolkein's heir (that would be the lucky sonofa who turned 33 on Tolkein's Eleventyfirst). It would totally rock if someone I know personally meets this criterion, but I'm counting everyone. The appropriate birthdate is, to the best of my calculations, January 3, 1970.
