Tonight. Tomorrow. Mathoms. My house. Be there or don't get rid of your unwanted treasures.

(I have also given permission to [livejournal.com profile] plantae to bring her homemade jam and homegrown honey for sale on the side. It's really good stuff.)

I got a postcard today with no identifying information and no Postcrossing code.

Dag Hammarskjöld, UN Secretary General 1953-1961, seated at a desk in front of a world map. You have been drafted into the Dag Hammarskjöld fan club! UN stamp and postmark.

I have apparently been drafted into the Dag Hammarskjöld fan club by someone with access to the UN post office in New York. This is on par with getting mail from Serenity Valley. If it was one of you, fess up! (Edit: [livejournal.com profile] gfish and [livejournal.com profile] adularia were the culprits. Thanks!)

I usually don't rage, rage against the madness of the system publicly, but I think this one needs to be spread further, since I know a few families who have been considering adoption. All of those families care very, very deeply about keeping families together if possible.

Please check carefully and be aware that, international or domestic, there's a very high risk of stolen babies, even if the paperwork looks clean. Moominmuppet's link roundup is succinct. This doesn't apply to the hard to adopt, the sick/disabled/HIV-positive/abused kids who are old enough to talk. But it sounds like healthy infants are nearly a no-go.
