This post is a TMI about my current skin problems. You've been warned. Also, I haven't kept up with anyone else's LJ in two or three weeks, so if you read me out of a sense of fairness, don't bother.

So, I got a bad cold. Fine.

I pushed through the bad cold until my immune system threw a fit and gave me shingles.

So, I got shingles. Fine.

I got them treated immediately and aggressively, walloped my body with all kinds of medication, and rested at least three days to make sure. It's been an uneventful two weeks since then, and the previously painful spots are almost completely healed.

Now I am observing that the continued frantic itchiness is linked to the fact that I'm breaking out from the bottom of my rib cage to the top of my neck, front and back, in a closely spaced and evenly distributed array of tiny pimples, the kind most people usually have a few of. I'm hitting probably 40 a day, and those are just the ones that I can see and reach to get rid of. The pattern of little red dots is obvious enough that I have to wear turtlenecks at work.

So I'm scrubbing daily and obsessively, and it's not helping. If anything, it's getting worse. It might be a reaction to all that medication I took. Fine.

Last night Bart noticed something that looks like faint ringworm on the back of my neck.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
