I've just taken an inventory and slimmed my friends list by almost 20 people, mostly people that I didn't know very well (or at all, in some cases). If I cut you and you're wondering why, let me know. If it turns out I should remember you better than I do, a refresher will probably get you back on. It's not like I post anything locked anyway.

All the people left on my list are either people I'm currently interacting with in some way or people whose posts are fascinating to me independent of context.

Statistics:
Names on my friends list that I consider "real people": 42
Number of those people that I consider reasonably close friends: 25
Number of secondary accounts on the list: 7
Syndications and official LJ journals: 18 (I just added a lot. I'll probably cut half of them soon.)

My packrat nature only allowed me to make this cleanout by *writing down* the name of everyone I unfriended. A couple of you in particular I really want to get back in touch with -- I just haven't yet, and I don't have time to read this much right now.
