For the record, the reason none of my fanfiction EVER sees daylight (barring that unfortunate incident one week after I connected to the Internet in college) is that I'm a shameless MarySue creator, and have the taste to recognize that no one else cares. This is the most complete analysis of the phenomenon I've ever seen, complete with some really hysterical links.
