You never really know someone...
Dec. 10th, 2003 01:47 pmI just met my best friend from fourth grade in the grocery store. I remembered her name correctly (Michelle), and we exchanged pleasantries, including the obligatory Event Tally. She's recently divorced with two kids, aged 6 and 4.
I do the math in my head and pause. She says, "Yeah, I had _____ nine days before graduation. No one knew about it. I didn't even show. *giggle*"
Our entire senior year, and she didn't even tell her best friend. (Not me. But she didn't even tell her *current* best friend.)
I cannot imagine the isolation.
