Ooh... burn.

Christmas good. Still trying to decide if I should itemize loot. Lots of loot. Lots and lots of loot. Combine this with rebrowsing my favorite book on truly property-free society and a room that I'm slowly excavating down from "up to my eyeballs in shit" and watch my head explode with conflicting signals! Stuff good! Stuff bad! I'm so confused!

Date: 2003-12-29 01:12 pm (UTC)I find the Odonian mindset... restful? Settling? Centered? When I can snap my mind into it, I lose about two thirds of the things I fear, because they have to do with not having enough, or with my stuff being destroyed. I think it would be spectacular if people had enough ingrained social conscience to be able to treat lawn mowers and power tools as they treat library books. I would like to be an anarchist, if it meant that the most I had to worry about moving was a handful of books and an orange blanket I'd grown fond of.
With the mindset on this morning, divvying up the Christmas ornaments between me and my sisters was both a satisfying and comical experience, with one half of my head saying "isn't it nice how well we can share?" and the other half saying "isn't it hysterical how territorial we all are, how concerned with possessing exactly the right numbers of these silly things?"
