Cross fingers. My supervisor at the library is officially taking me under her wing. I've been upgraded from "volunteer" to "intern" to allow me to work the circulation side of things a little, because I expressed an interest. She's plying me with library freebie goodies and special projects and compliments.

Then yesterday, the kicker. "I'm going to the Public Library once-every-two-years this-is-a-huge-deal week-long conference in two weeks, in Seattle. If I could get your admission covered, and a ride over, can you find a place to stay?"

Oh yes. Oh yes oh yes oh yes.

It's not final yet. She has to run it past the board next week. This is a major kick in the ass for me to get my contacts contacted. But... damn. "Yes, I was in town for the [massive conference] and was hoping to get an interview while I'm here..." Heeeee.
