I RULE! Officially.
Mar. 10th, 2004 04:37 pmAt the library director's request, I added up my volunteer hours today. With 20 hours for the conference (which she insists counted) and 3 hours to watch Two Towers at teen movie night (which she also insists counted), I have put in 97 hours in the last six weeks. This is over 40% of all volunteer hours for the last quarter, and apparently a record-setting total.
They made a point of introducing me to the Friends of the ACL (fund-raising committee) and everything. Yee. I feel all special and appreciated.
I can now put "Made library pretty." on my resume. I spent the last two days relabeling all the shelves. The old labels were the kind where you cut out individual letters and stick them to backing. Now they're not, they're done in the official library colors, and I've saved the template to a public folder so they can update as necessary.
I also took the instruction "Could you make some readers' advisories on diabetes and heart disease for the health fair?" and turned it into an attractive tri-fold brochure with four subjects. The template for that is also in a public folder.
I am good at this. It's nice to find something I'm good at.
