So, at work, I've been trying to popularize Dress-up Wednesday. It's like Casual Friday except for tee-shirt tech companies where ties are suspect. I am currently the only participant, but it gives me an excuse to wear ties and suspenders once a week. (Not that I can't other days, but people are getting used to Dress-up Wednesday.)
Today I wore a dress. A long sundress, with a keyhole that shows my back. The fabric is lush green-red-yellow tropical flowers on a black background.
My boss came in and commented on my lack of tie. I stood up for the full effect, and said, "It's Femmme Dress-up Wednesday."
My boss nodded. "It looks nice!"
An older woman from down the cube row heard this and called out, "Okay, if you're commenting on her clothes, then I will too. You look great."
Preening. Preening now.

PS: Break between quarters is 20-29 June.
PPS: My fabulous former neighbour and always friend Mother Teresa Nervina is staging a reunion of the Original Seattle Sisters on the evening of Sunday, 21 June at the Broadway Grill. Would you be interested in attending a joyfully campy social evening with a bunch of drag nuns? Because he actually took the time to find out when school was out so's I could attend, I'm going to be there. };>
