I found a white hair today! Woo! I celebrated with chocolate ice cream.

I'm glad I hacked it all off last year so I could fiddle around with my girlish good looks. Now I can get down to the serious business of aging gracelessly. ;-)

Miscellanea:

Rat still in walls.

Mildew problem between futon and plywood support caused a hilarious bed containment failure when three people tried to lie in it. I need a new futon, and a boxspring for ventilation, according to friends. J hates soft beds and would be happiest sleeping on the plywood, so if it's possible to get a boxspring that's low on spring, that would make us very happy. Anyone have shopping recommendations, either for retailers or what to ask for?

Still taking pictures of self and failing to post them.

Still *loving* having turned 30.

Cisgendered gay male housemate has started reading my M/M porn. I am wincing in terror. Despite a broad panel of readers (including just about every other combination of gender and sexuality) telling me that I've done good stuff here, the Inner Critic is sure he's going to tell me no gay man on Earth has ever actually been like this and I should give up.

Star Trek movie went down real smooth. I love a good Star Trek movie.

Fremont Solstice Parade still full of beautiful hippies. Got to attend with [livejournal.com profile] arjache after missing two years. We walked two miles to get there because the buses were packed, which meant we got to play Welcome Wagon to a French genetics major who was trying to get there as well. He was fun. I couldn't pronounce his name to save my life. He told me that in rural France they burn a wooden witch for Solstice and call it Saint John. (John, not Joan, I checked.) I told him about Wicker Man. We talked about Burning Man. Hooray for cultural exchange!

Lovely to have my surreality meter maxed out again for the year. When she has to point out to me that a lobsterman just walked past, and then I say something about the neon pink First Aid clown that just rode by and she didn't even notice it...

St. John the Baptist is the de facto patron saint of Canada. So, I see the French are still bitter. Quel dommage!
(I like spurious explanations I do!)
