Oct. 25th, 2010 07:38 amI hung 40 Halloween PSA fliers on Saturday, doing a pretty good job on Cap Hill. (A stroll on Sunday confirmed that a few of them even survived howling rain and passers-by!) This despite what
arjache described as a Dickensian cough. I now own a staple hammer! I love my staple hammer.
Dickensian cough still going strong. It's been my only symptom (other than a couple days' exhaustion) since Wednesday.
There was a SLUG ON THE WALL the other night, in my house, 4" long, 4' up, right next to the bathroom door. I confess, I screamed. I was raised in a desert and have never quite gotten used to the wet side of the state's proliferation of slugs and snails. IN THE HOUSE! FOUR INCH SLUG! Jason took it outside for me.
A few weeks ago I had a couple really nasty bouts of insomnia, which sucked, but led to my reading two books! I read depressingly little, so that was nice. Even better, I enjoyed both immensely.

- The Historian I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who kind of feels like reading Dracula again except you've read it already. The tone and echoing is brilliant, with added depth since it's building on a century of vampire fandom. It feels old-school.
- Almost Perfect, yes, the Torchwood franchise novel, was ridiculously fun. I can even back-justify the ridiculous clothing choices Ianto made, and it was refreshing to read a story with a gay club as a major setting that didn't feel like it was written by a tourist. (They kind of turned queering the villain inside-out.)
