I want to chop my hair off. I want a slightly shaggy boy cut. I want to send the braid off to Locks of Love. I currently have about 14" long, braided, so even longer ponytailed.

I want to know how long the waiting period should be on a decision like this.

I want to know if you think it will look good.

My immediate response is, of course, "gasp!", but the more I think about it, the more I am fairly sure that you will look good no matter what.

I just don't know what kind of good.

Getting a drastic, but good (read: expensive) haircut has always been nothing but cathartic for me personally. You should definitely have some sort of idea of what you want, though, going in. And I don't know what would be good for you as a short/medium hairstyle, because I can't picture you with anything other than what you've always had (to me).

I'd be interested in the results, if you do go through with it.
